History of International Solidarity Day for the Palestinian People
Reported by the official website of the United Nations, Palestine and Israel who were involved in the conflict about the region for a long time and had shared borders along the city of Jerusalem.
Both of them maintain the area they believe is in this country. This encourages the need to separate Palestine and Israel and make them independent.
Therefore, the United Nations adopted a resolution of 181 (II) on November 29, 1947 called the 'United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine'. The resolution contained a proposal that recommended the division of Palestine after Britain withdraws its power.
The new states will be formed two months after the withdrawal of Britain, no later than October 1948. The plan also calls for economic unification between proposed countries and for the protection of religious and minority rights.

The resolution was not fully carried out because of a one -year civil war in Palestine. After that, Israel became a country in 1948.
Then, in 1977, the UN General Assembly formed an International Solidarity Day with the Palestinian community which referred to 32/40 resolution B. The resolution called on the determination of International Solidarity Day with the Palestinian people on November 29.
In resolution 60/37 of 1 December 2005, the UN Assembly requested that the Committee for the Implementation of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Division for Palestinian Rights continue to organize annual exhibitions on Palestinian rights or cultural events in cooperation with the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine for the UN.
Through this commemoration, UN member states are encouraged to provide support for the commemoration of International Solidarity Day for the Palestinian People.
This commemoration aims to remind about the problems in Palestine that have not been resolved, one of which is related to human rights which have also not been fulfilled.
